What sport do you participate in?

Running – Road and Trail / Triathlon / Open water swimming

What is your greatest sporting achievement?
Completing my first 100k ultra trail marathon in October 2016

When was the first time that you realised that your sport was becoming your passion?
I started running to raise money for Hummingbird House, a charity I have a personal connection. The love and passion just kept growing with every event I entered. I love inspiring people to get out there, give it a go and be the best version of themselves.

What is your favourite part of competing?
I love to challenge myself. Nothing beats the feeling of accomplishment when I complete an event, especially if it’s a milestone distance or PB time.

What does a standard days training consist of?
Standard is not something that I can relate to. I’m not good with routines and don’t like the feeling of having to stick to a regimented training program. While I know this works well for most people it doesn’t work for me. I like to mix up my training and have fun with it. Some days I will find a trail and hike all day, other days I’ll smash out a speed session. I don’t diet but try to choose healthy options as much as possible.

What is the most important aspect of your training?
Having fun. I don’t take it seriously because that would take the joy out of what I love doing. It’s great to also have amazing friends to train and with who have the same passion.

What does a standard post-event recovering consist of?
Refuel and re-hydrate. My body needs food to recover quickly. I also can’t go past a good long soak in the bath. It’s also important for me to stay active. The day after a big event I will always go for a walk or a swim to avoid my muscles tightening up.

What is your ultimate sporting goal?
To one day complete an Ironman event. The ultimate endurance event.

Who is your sporting idol and why?
I don’t have a sporting idol. I’m inspired by the people from all ages, genders and walks of life who turn up to events and push themselves to be their best.

What advice would you give to someone that is interested in taking up your sport?
Get out there and give it a shot. Find a friend to train with for your first event and most importantly have FUN. Smile and enjoy the moment.

What is the biggest challenge you face when competing?
Self doubt. Mind games that creep in and make me lose belief in myself. I have to be aware of this and snap out of it as soon as I have those feelings.

What’s your favourite thing about fisiocrem (‘that it’s free’ is not the correct answer!)?
The fast acting relief I get everytime I use it. The all natural ingredients are perfect for me being that I have sensitive skin I don’t have any irritation from Fisiocrem at all.

We love compliments so we’d love if you could provide us with a testimonial for use on our website, social media and ads.
Fisiocrem is the best product I have ever used for the temporary relief of aches and pains. I recently competed in the Blackall 100k Ultra Trail Run and used Fisocrem before, during and after the event with fantastic results in both pain relief and recovery.
