You may recall hearing about the almost-fatal accident back in May 2016, when fisiocrem sponsored athlete Jack Sinclair was tragically struck by a car while training for the Cairns Ironman.
(Jack’s the older brother of fisiocrem legend Harry Sinclair who runs our event tents for our sponsored Running Mums Australia group.)
Luckily for Jack, a broken neck, jaw, teeth, shoulder blade, collarbone, ribs or severe facial and shoulder lacerations and a punctured lung couldn’t keep him off the horse (well, in this case a bike!).
Let’s fast forward 12 months and Jack’s back in fine form… and there really is no stopping him!!!
Over the weekend young-gun Jack Sinclair showed the world what he’s made of and crossed the finish line of the Cairns Ironman (just a sneaky 12 months later than anticipated).
What is the Cairns Ironman?
The Cairns Ironman involves a 3.8km swim, 180km cycle and a full marathon to finish. Not your average walk in the park if you ask us!
But the gruelling distance didn’t get to Jack, there really was no wiping the smile off this athlete’s face.
His strong will and determination showed awesome results and a cool, calm, collected nature! With family cheering him on, Jack crossed the finish line in an impressive 11hr 20 min.
What’s next for Jack?
Jack has his sights on the 96km Gold Coast Kokoda Challenge this July with his team (he still holds the schoolboy record from a few years ago). The boys are aiming for a new PB and with the help of fisiocrem by their side, they’re confident they can make it happen.
It’s been a massive journey for 24 year old Jack, and we couldn’t be happier to see him back on his feet and doing what he loves!
Best of luck Jack – go forth and conquer!!!
